About Udaipur :

Udaipur is known as the lake city and it was the former capital of Mewar dynasty. The city is known by its lakeside palaces. It is a small city. In 1559 Maharana Udai Singh of Sisodia dynasty made Udaipur as his capital. The independent, free minded rulers of Mewar have shown courage against the British during the colonial era. During the accession of princely states after independence, even Udaipur merged into the Government of India and became a part of Rajasthan. Today, the descendants of the royal family own the Lake Palace of Udaipur and the Jagmandir island.

Udaipur is a gorgeous city of shimmering lakes, resting beside the ridges of the Aravalli Hills of Rajasthan. Jagdish Temple –One of the famous tourist attractions in Udaipur is Jagdish temple, which is situated in the heart of this city. This beautiful temple was constructed by Maharana Jagat Singh I in the year 1651. It is great fusion of Indo-Aryan art and architecture. Earlier this temple was called as “Temple of Jagannath Rai”. City Palace - City Palace is one of the famous tourist attractions located on the east side of Lake Pichola. This palace was constructed by Maharana Udai Singh II in 1559. This is regarded as the largest royal complex in Rajasthan and comprises of museum, garden and many historical buildings. It is a blend Rajasthani and Mughal architectural styles. Saheliyon Ki Bari - Saheliyon-Ki-Bari is also known as Courtyard of the Maidens comprises of beautiful garden and different varieties of water fountains. This beautiful garden was constructed in the 18th century by Maharana Sangram Singh for a group of 48 young women who came along with his princess in the form of a dowry. Sajjangarh Biological Park – Sajjangarh Biological Park is a zoological garden located in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. This biological park is situated just beneath the Monsoon Palace (also known as Sajjajgarh Garh Palace), around 4 Km from the city center.
The zoo has different varieties of animals and birds which have been brought from different parts of World. At present, it houses 60 animals of 21 species including tigers, panthers, lions, ostriches, alligators, rhesus monkeys etc.
